Well we are in Colorado Springs for the Holiday. Our real Thanks Giving day happened today but on the calendar day we drove… long drive but worth it…
We got an early start (for us) and we were in Blackwell by 8AM. Had to pick up a clock that we had repaired and deliver it to Ryan. On our way out of the house I captured this..
When we got to Blackwell I happen to look up and geez all the pigeons in Blackwell were gathered for something? or maybe hiding out due to turkey day or Hunting day for that part of the country…
As we made the turn at Salina and headed west we always drive through one of the larger wind farms in the country… at least one that we see out here…
now that is just three close to the interstate but there are hundreds in all directions that you can’t see…
If you look hard, which my co-pilot is not doing, you can see a few more of those large fans that keep the winds blowing in northern Kansas…
It was a long drive and we kind of slowed a lot when we got here… everyone else was out walking off the big meals , but we were just getting prepared…
Ok this was the selection – 14lb bird and ? 10lb ham… boy were they good along with all the fixings… oh and that is the rear of the cook…
That was my first round… stuffed big time… and there was desert but I was saving that for later… probably should have started with desert huh?
We are digging in now… all around…
But I think the real reason Grandma wanted to come is to see the Grandsons… and have them all together is a great thing too.
Grandson #1… I likes his turkey legs but went back and got a big hunk of ham..
Grandson #2… he just like about everything … although he wasn’t into ham or turkey as he just has 2 teeth…
Grandson #3 – Grandma doing what she does best…holding… he had just finished up a bottle and needed to stretch it out some…
So goes our Holiday and all that fun… just glad I wasn’t cooking… It is just great and we gave thanks that we could all be together. We missed some that may show up tomorrow and they get leftovers too… We have plenty… I also went back for seconds, even though the first go was probably more than I needed, why not top it off with some more good food as well as I saved enough room for the pumpkin pie…
Oh and I spent a lot of time reworking my new digital FM radio programs I had some that did not work exactly right on the way through Kansas and then I find there a several new repeaters out here so I added some of them and went back and added some to the other programmable radio… Oh and I spent time playing on the computer but didn’t get my nap in that I threatened to do several times.
In between the eating and playing I spent a lot of time herding GS#2 and trying my best to keep him out of things, at 1 year old he is way too curious and into anything that is within his reach… He also has a real affinity for watches, computer, radios, and cell phones.
