Well, we finallly got our first spring storm and it was a doozy for those south and east of us… we got diddly. No rain, little wind, and that was it… but just a few miles east there was big hail… and in a few other spots, big wind that goes round and big wind that goes straight… I am thankful we didn’t get the bad wind but could have used some rain…

Today was a travel day… on the road again… but not like Willy… The alarm went off way too early for a retired guy… but we got with it, packed it up and out we went… the temps when we left were in the 40’s… not too bad… but by the time we got into Kansas it was hitting 35… hey when the sun comes up it is supposed to warm up, right? it was cold and windy in Salina when I filled up with gas… but getting up to about 39… we headed west and before Hays hit a cloud bank , pretty dark, and the temps dropped from 40 back to 35 agn… then just after we left Colby or ??? Goodland it cleared again and by the time we hit Burlington it was in the 40’s then by the time we got to the Springs it was almost 70… in fact they (wife, dogs, and kids) sat outside and shaved Sherries two dogs… and most were in shorts… so it was an up and down and up and down and up day…
I promised myself to stop a bit more often… was hard to keep that promise. I am one that when I hit the road or have a goal I want to get it done, not “piddle”along doing it… but I did stop a few extra times… we stopped in Colorado for a break… Siebert I think… no it was Arriba…you know that mexican fast place… anyway it was a stop more for the dogs than us but we were confused…
These were the signs we first saw… and were about to go find a country road spot but look closer…
You need to exercise the pets on the native grass, not the blue grass in the front… not a bad idea but maybe the front signs should just be arrows to point to the signs in the back?
So we are here, and Grandma is getting her hugs, and smiles and will do her thing for a couple of days…
