I am in total preparation for “the other life” the one that I work to have. In two days I go home again and have multiple plans – of which I am not sure how many will come to fruit but who knows.
I hope to come to a decision on the tower project – build, buy new, buy used, something to get started on moving the antennas up to useable height. Would be nice to have something working in that direction for cold winter days so I can do a little radio, do a little hobby (other) and not set wishing I could do something. On the tower project I am considering these alternatives:
1. A welded pipe tower that folds at the bottom like this one:
A Fold over Mast – folds at ground and made of 2 1/2, 2, 1 1/2 pipe. “]
2. A purchased free standing tower like this – still folds at ground (which I will have to make some modifications).
New bolt together that needs swing up base built
3. Or something used in the crank-up folder over that will require repair like this?

I would love to have an aluminum tower but the cost is more than twice in most cases? Wish I could find a used one close by. Actually I wish I could afford one like this:

… ouch! I am not that serious about my tower as there are multiple other things I need and want before I get to that. so we will just have to keep looking, and maybe I will come up with something I can afford and is reasonable for my purpose.
