A lazy start, as we hated to make this last leg home but after last nights disappointment of the Watonga Cheese Festival we had no desire to go back in to Watonga today.
Got out of the Roman Nose park about 11:00 AM and traveled out to Highway 8 – to Okeene and then east on hwy 51 home. Arrived about 12:30 and got the Motor home backed in front of the shed. I need to wash off the front cap – sure got a lot of “last time” bugs on the front. Big juicy grasshoppers mostly as they left a huge calling card.
We got the necessary stuff out, WASH, last thing food stuffs, etc. and I topped out the house batteries with water. With the new PRo-Fill RV battery watering system, I need to make sure they are full every month. It should make them last a lot longer (I hope) as before I usually didn’t get them topped out and they would boil down before I got the “desire” to pull that heavy tray out (the one that I fixed last year) as it had only one working set of rollers and I had to build a wood prop for it when I got it pulled out half way. I also had problems getting it pushed back in. It also would only come out enough to get to the first two batteries and even then you couldn’t look down in them as the opening door was in the way. A very difficult place for those batteries but about the only place they could be put, although the motor home builders could have done a better job of placing them so they could be serviced.
The rest of the day consisted of checking the mail, checking the boxes of repairs for the weather station, I will send back the outdoor sensor in place of getting a new complete station and have backup parts, as just the sensor for the outdoor unit was $65 and the whole station with all sensors and sending units is $200? Then a little late Lunch and a Nap and some yogurt from Braums for supper. What a day. Would rather have been staying at the park another day and then moving on to another great destination but like I said, we still have to work to play and hope soon we can play with out the work. I do not think we will every be full timers. But I am sure I will be a Part time’r when I can get it done.
Tomorrow? I am thinking I may go over to my Dad’s place and check on his computer problems – put in a new monitor (bigger) so maybe he can see it better. He is gone for the week so it is a good time to get that done. Maybe, I will have to see how I feel about it in the morning. – WD0AJG
