OSU this year. We had more records broken and two great players crowned, actually two in the same game with major awards behind them. although he only came in 5th in the Heisman as a sophomore, Justin Blackmon won the Biletnikoff (Best receiver in College) as well as:
“Just another great grab!”]
“OSU receiver Justin Blackmon set a major college football receiving record for most consecutive games with at least 100 yards and a touchdown. Blackmon set the record in the Alamo Bowl, when he had at least 100 receiving yards and at least one touchdown catch in his 12th straight game. Here’s a look at Blackmon’s game-by-game receiving totals this year:
Opponent Rec. Yds. TDs
Washington State 8 125 3
Troy 10 132 2
Tulsa 6 174 3
Texas A&M 10 127 1
La. Lafayette 13 190 2
Texas Tech 10 207 1
Nebraska 5 157 2
Baylor 13 173 1
Texas 9 145 1
Kansas 10 130 1
Oklahoma 8 105 1

NOTE: The record applies to consecutive games in which a player participated. Blackmon was suspended for the Kansas State game.”
On top of that OSU had the Lou Groza award winner in Dan Baily – the best place kicker in college football.
“Add one more”]
Add to those two greats with the record year they had with 11 wins, 4th in total offense, 2nd in passing yardage, 3rd in first downs, 3rd in receiving yards, 1st in field goals made, 1st in extra points made and add the other records for the Big 12 and OSU records.
I think these guys were HIGH for this game!”
All this for a team that was picked 5th or 6th in the Big 12 south? How great is that for young men that believed in themselves enough to make all this happen?
I am just glad that I got to see some of the games and watch some of the greats make history
One last comment – thanks to Dana Holgorsen for the great year, good luck in the future.
Thanks for a great year – hope you did a good job of teaching for those that stay”
