This is a good primer and starting point for Solar Panels. I am still looking into it but from an economic standpoint it is hard to justify right now. The real problem is not knowing the future cost of energy – especially electric. The other real problem with solar panels is the need for storage. The batteries are expensive and not yet up to the equal of the panels for use. Solar might be great when the sun shines but when it dark out, there is no power coming in so you have to revert to the electric company or have battery storage. All that said, I am still looking at it and the government tax credit is tempting but not enough yet to get me off the center point on this. I have it figured it will be a very big initial investment to implement solar. It may be more economical here to look at wind power but that too is not consistent.
