Hurry rush now

Yesterday was one of those days that we have when what you have planned just is not exactly how it turns out. The morning I spent getting a video moved to the server and doing some small items around here.  I checked in on work and did some email stuff in the interim but was actually waiting on the wife to get home so we could make our trip to OKC.  We had scheduled a meeting at 2pm with the lawyer to go over and update our financial planning and wills.

When she got home we were in a tight to make it to downtown OKC by 2pm but we left Stillwater at about 12:50 and got lucky, pulled into the parking garage at 1:50 +/- and made it up to the Lawyers office by 2pm and then had to wait on him for 45 minutes (conference call ran over?).

In the office when we were finally going over the changes and marking a few things that needed a little more fixing, we got some frantic calls that we needed to get to Blackwell to sign some papers.  Well not critical but had to be done today.  We had not had lunch yet and it was going on 3:30 when we got out of the office.  We made on quick stop then hit the Braums on the north side of OKC off I-35 and rushed back up the interstate to Blackwell.

Got there about 5:15 and got the papers signed.  Not sure it was that big of a rush but we did it anyway and had dinner with the in-laws at the favorite Mexican place. Then it was back to Stillwater by 9pm and I was tired.  I read a little and called it quits before I wrote anything.

This morning I got into email and had a few I needed to really check out but before that happened I got a call from work to go over some issues that we have there.  Not much I can do about most of it but throwing ideas is always something we need to do.  That ran a bit longer than I had planned and by then the New Pest guy was here to look around and give an estimate on monthly control.  That run up to almost time for me to leave for lunch.

I got out on the road , once I had collected all my stuff and watered the birds (Sparrow Trap).  Got to the place for the “healthy lunch” at Wellness Wednesday.  It was ok for a salad but not something I would want to make a habit of.  The talk was pretty good on skin cancers and recognizing that “if you have spots – see a Doctor”  “if the spots change – see a Doctor”  oh and this is what some of them will look like.   I was also unaware that Oklahoma is #1 in Melanoma Cancer related deaths – shees just something else to brag about huh?

I missed several good picture ops today.  I need to get a lot faster on the draw here,  We had a “flock” of yellow finch’s come through and there had to be over a hundred in the group, funny flying in and out near the pond trying to land and get water but when one would spook the whole bunch would be off, circle then slowly try to come back in… Great stuff.  I also didn’t get the giant red head woodpecker moving around in the trees.  So it was just another couple of days here.

Since I didn’t have anything good to write on I pulled this from my reading as a reminder – it is camping time and we should be safe when we go… Check this list for things you should be prepared for on your own as well:
