I read a post about getting back change that hit a nerve with me as well. It is not bad enough to run into those idgits that cant figure it out if they didn’t put in the correct numbers for the register to put back the proper answer, but for those that do get the correct answer then persist in giving you the bills first, then the change laid on top of them really get me steamed. Your standing there fumbling with a billfold, or purse or what ever and you have to go through magical manipulation to keep from dropping the coins. Come to think about it, that may be a ploy so at the end of the day they can pick up the loose change that some people just gave up on? I know they don’t make much in those jobs and I would doubt that the dropped coins would ever ad up to much but in thousands of transaction the business could gain a little to cover other losses?
It still pisses me off every time they do that… I really appreciate and usually compliment those that start with the change to count up to the dollar and then count out the remainder to the total you gave them… The age of computers and calculators has almost eliminated the ability to make change.
