Good Christmas–then–Who flung Dung

We spent the past +/- 3 days in Frisco, TX with family. Had a great Christmas, not too exciting not too boring and we all seemed happy with our gifts, especially the Grandson.  We went down on Saturday.  Had the the major Santa Claus moment for the Grand Son Sunday Morning. He was a bit worried that he really needed to be good Saturday, I tried to explain that he needed to be good all the time and that put a bit more worry in his eyes.  We loafed most of the rest of the day except for some time in the HOT TUB so that we all came out looking like prunes.  It was cold out and it was a 15 yard dash to get to the tub but I made it and got in before everything froze off.  I was a bit worried about the return trip but I guess I have enough fat that soaked up that heat that I was able to get back to the house ok, although the concrete we walked on with wet feet was damn cold.  Then Sunday evening we had the remainder of the Family Christmas.  Well not all of it some of it is promised to be done right after the new year as we got certificates for them that will be filled with “life-time” Alumni certificates then.  One of those things that what do you give grown kids that already have more than they need.  Giving money seems pointless, giving gift cards is only good for the card companies, and all other items are destined to be the wrong color, size, kind, etc.  Hitting on the correct gift for adults is near impossible.  This way we got something that none of them would have gotten as they are either too cheap, can’t see the use, or can’t afford anyway so we hit it all this way and they can’t take it back so we score one also…

For the evening meal…. Chinese what else.  I wonder how much extra money the Chinese restaurants make on Christmas day?  They may make a whole months worth of income off that one day, and another amazing fact is, people that go to those places on that day are so upset that service is slow?  DUH! if you fixed your own meals you wouldn’t have to wait so put up with the wait and smile, The workers on that day are getting run ragged putting up with all the lazy whiners.  How do you think they feel about it?

We watched a few movies, of course they watched Christmas Vacation.  We lamed around and even let that run into Monday.  Which of course we did almost nothing.  Some watched movies, some did a little after shopping, I did a little reading and playing “rockem-sockem” I didn’t know those things were still made?  (no batteries needed).  We took in one of the local Mexican restaurants for dinner Monday and Today we wasted about half the day and started home

On the way home, actually  not too far down the road on HWY 380, we saw something fly either out or off or around a pickup pulling a open trailer.  In this trailer were parts for a fireplace and maybe a few tools, nothing else could be seen there but we got hit by a wad of fairly fresh DUNG!… small piece on the windshield but this really big one on the front of the car…

Our question was where did that come from?  I know in the picture it may look like a toad but I can assure you they can’t jump that high.   I quizzed, as we continued, that it could have been a moon shot out the passenger window that we missed seeing the moon?  If it was then they didn’t eat very well for Christmas.  I really hate to think it was a moon shot, and I am sure it was not a wad of Tobacco, too green.  It most likely had to be something that had been left on the trailer from some earlier occupants,  the freshness of this indicates they had to have been in the trailer earlier today.  Just glad they were not in it when we were behind them as there surely had to be a lot more of that going on?

We made it home with out further incident, got unpacked from our great trip and settled in for a little rest before another day brings on more great adventure and sights from from the unknown.  – WD0AJG
