The past few days I have been running back and forth to Enid to help with Dad’s situation. We got him out of the hospital again and to rehab late yesterday. This has been wearing me out but two things of interest (outside personal family issues) were noticed on my trips…
1. Some of the farmers are cutting corn already on the 412 road to Enid… this is way early but the corn is already dry and ready so ?
Its not even August yet? As I remember corn usually is not harvested until September or later?
Next on my way home last night we had one heck of a range fire going at the I-35 and 51 junction… well when I got there is was under control but the crews were packing up to head straight south like there was another hot spot as they were taking a dirt road south that normally they would not, just to get out… I saw crews from Tinker, Edmond, MWC, Stillwater, and a lot of other towns headed out…
Sure glad they were on it and it appears the highway 51 was a good stop for this one but how many more will we have?
The weather is sure not going to help.
