Well, today I got out early and had my walk… then headed off to town. I was going to put some checks in the bank and check on some pansies for the front flower bed. I also stopped and got a burrito at Braums for good measure and set and read the paper. I got to Lowes and found the flowers I thought would look good. Got a whole flat of pansies for under $12… not too bad but now I need to go back and get some grub killer…found them while planting the flowers.
This is a little after I started… needed to trim out a bunch of that sumac… We were talked into that as it would add color, all it does it take over…
Here I had already trimmed out about 2/3 of the over hang… it had just about taken up all the area from the post to the rock and was covering the other stuff… so back it goes…
I then moved the post to a spot a little more hidden and better to use to wrap the sumac a little to hold it more upright..
Then I tied it all up and planted the flat of pansies in the front…
As you can tell, when I got this picture it was a bit later… I had cleaned up all my tools and it was started to rain a little… It did rain about 1/3 of an inch real slow during the afternoon…
I am not sure if that is enough flowers or not? it is about twice last year but still looks a bit thin… may get another flat later? when I get the grub killer…
On my way back from town today I stopped at Wal-mart to check out if they had any different flowers and found this…
It is not even October… We haven’t even started the Halloween stuff yet… I think they get earlier every year and pretty soon the
“Christmas in July” will be true… I think it is a crock as we don’t really get to enjoy the actual Holidays with the pumping for Christmas sales so early…
