Another great day

Tonight like many other nights this summer., I am on the deck having my glass of wine both happy and sad.
We now have 2 “certified ” health professionals that should soon be out on their own.  We got the call a few hours ago that he had passed his certification.  As much as we wanted this day to get here, it is also a day of regret. 
In the over 3 years of “learning to live with it.” We have gotten used to them being here.  I think we (the parents) had hoped they would find jobs close and stick around.  Not in the same house mind you, but close. 
The outcome is that they are heading off to their dream location.  We just hope it is what they want it to be.
All that said I am now happy for them, sad for use, and look forward to the future that has in many ways been on hold for everyone.
