Yesterday when I went to town for lunch I caught this pic…
yep they were everywhere in lime green… “Rush week” (for those that know about college stuff…)
Today, with a little prep and fixing and a trip to the bank, we took off today at about 2PM… Wife had to work half day and I just didn’t do much other than get things ready.
We took the road less travelled… straight west on 51 then west on Hwy 3…
I got this as we entered the Panhandle… Slapout America… great place..
We called it Gods country cause not many others wanted it…
We did make a few stops along the way and got gas in Guymon and at that point it was a discussion on “do we go on or stop” since it was only about 6 we opted to go on but first, gas, stops and waste a little time but we were ready and headed out when the radio announced severe weather “potential” right in our path… we studied the issue and went on figuring we would be able to slip around most of the bad stuff that was going north east?…
Just out of Guymon it looked like this?
Then just before Boise City…
And shortly after… it poured buckets of rain and plenty of wind… we moved on slow at times and fast at others… then just about NM line..
Looking back east of course… just missed the best of the rainbow…
We made it to Raton and spending the night before we move on… In years past we have stayed here but in the motor home this time it is motels… due to shortness of time and distance of travel…
