I am off on another work trip… waiting for a call to just quit and go home… It is strange that when you want something or you are ready for it to happen…. It won’t. Our company is going through some pains and a portion is having to “reduce” certain areas. One of those areas has been a reduction of select people. Now that I am ready for it, it has not happened. They even called and asked if I would consider “early retirement” but I told them what I wanted for a “package” and they didn’t want to give that much… I was not unreasonable. I asked for what they gave a few years ago when they dumped people but this time they are giving a lot less. In one case, not confirmed, they only gave 2 weeks “in lieu of notice” and 5 weeks for service… that is pretty short, although that guy had quit one portion of the company to go out to one that we just took over so he got the years he had in the addition back to the original… Anyway, I am still here waiting on the call, hoping to finish the year to maximize my benefits and doing what I have to. So much for that.
Tonight we got back to the hotel (in downtown Midland) and I was supporting a headache so figured that a long walk might help. It is not hot here , not like it could be so I got in about an hour in the downtown area… boy there is a lot to see… ha!

Maybe tomorrow there will be more exciting things we have set out to see…
