Well, I have been remiss in posting lately… not that I am lazy or anything…
Last Saturday I made it to the local car show at Ron Shirley GMC… they have a little “invitation only” show on the second Saturday of October every year. Last year the weather sucked and not many came out… hell I would take my clean car out in the weather we had last year but that is how it works… I went with the idea that my cousin would be there… He was, but had only gotten there a little before me to show one of his cars… actually a new one he bought a few months ago…
I think he just wanted to get it out and drive it cause he never got an entry number for it, but hey, he has too many trophies now and that is not his goal, he just likes to get out and see the other stuff and if your going, take one to put in the lineup…
Anyway, I got around to all of the cars and found a few that I sure wouldn’t mind setting in my garage and occasionally getting out for a spin…
First on my list…
Not that would a be a blast to make the drive-ins and have a great time…
This would also be a blast to drive around in but I am afraid that I would be scared shit-less that someone would run into it… that thing is worth more than all mine put together … well maybe not if you add the motorhome but damn close…
This one is pretty cool for the way they fixed it up… of course it is an OSU theme… even the interior… nice work too…
I used to have a 55 two door post… but mine never looked this good… it was yellow and true to the color was a LEMON… owned that POS for about 9 months…
The engine blew up… not from racing but had an oil line plug and put two rods through the block… had the brakes wore plumb out and I fixed that, the engine we got from the junk yard needed to be rebuilt but I didn’t have the money for that so it had a lot of blow-by… I spent money on re-doing the interior… did a decent job but just about then the shift level came off when I went to put it in reverse one night… had to drive shifting with a long screw driver in the column… it had an old fashion over drive but couldn’t ever get it to work… and it had some weird electrical problem that we never found… run great for a while then all of a sudden it would die… I tried everything to fix that but never found out why , but after a little cussing it would start again and off we went… anyway it ran out of gas one day, but it said it had half a tank? the gauge had worked all the time I had owned it till then… but by accident after dragging it all over the pasture we put 5 more gallons in it and damn if it didn’t start? and that was when we sold it way too cheap… oh well…
So the little local car show had a great day of weather and those were my favorites… although there were several others that came in real close to those… I sure envy those guys. I guess I should of kept one of mine as I have had some really neat ones, looking back…
One more thing… I don’t have one like those and sometimes I figure this fits closer to the truth…
