They say a cat has 9 lives? I can’t really attest to that but some of them sure test the limits. Recently we took in my daughters cat since they could not keep here (at present)… Actually it was the grandson’s cat so we felt a little obligated to help out. The cat had been raised with 2 large dogs that one was a protector and one was an overbearing pain in the ass… the pain in the ass, still is and will always be one of those… She would not leave the cat alone and constantly bothered it while it was young… the cat, a Mane Coon got pretty big and at last known she would actually attack the “pain” dog and take over her crate when ever she wanted to and the dog knew not to get involved with the rather large set of claws… but she would still “pester” the cat such that the cat now… has more than a little attitude.
She thinks she can do anything and go anywhere she wants… in my house cats are not allowed on the counters… she defies that rule constantly… In my house and all past cats learned what the litter box was for and that they damn well should use it over any other location… which brings me to the point today… this cat defies that rule as well… it seems the dog pestered her so much she now will go where ever and actually prefers in the people bathroom but not always in the box…she also , we were told, must have a daily clean litter box… somewhere she got the idea it could be cleaned daily just for her? not here… she may learn what outside means pretty soon with being out more than in…
With all that said, I thought she had been doing ok till the last 2 days… I had not checked much and the box had been in the “kids” downstairs bathroom… it had worked ok but she left two deposits in the bath tub and was peeing on the bath mat… ? From this failure to follow rules, I shut her out of the bathroom and moved the litter box back out to a more watchable spot, still down stairs but no rugs, no carpets available.. and no bathtub… so what did she do… either last night or today she decided to get up on the clean cloths folding table , where my wife had left her vest and jacket after washing them and promptly wet on them both… I think that may mean she now has 8 lives left? A couple more deals like that will certainly prompt and more strict response? The problem is catching her at it and for that matter catching her… she is not the most loving cat, unless she wants something then only just a little. She is a big cat and could live reasonably well outside and she may be headed in that direction sooner than she may like?
Beyond that she needed more food… seems the vet she was going to recommended some special “urinary” food since, I guess, she had a problem… well, after shopping for some special food… that high priced stuff got left at the store a cheaper version (still urinary stuff) was substituted… if she keeps peeing on things… she may not have a urinary problem anymore and regular food may be substituted to reduce that problem even further as well?
I am sure this picture is not proportionally correct , because that cat is just about as big as the dog… when she stands up she is taller…
She also has no use for the dog, most of the time…on occasion she will be a little playful with the dog but most times the dog has to go out around the cat or she will take a swipe at the dog… Here the dog essentially ignores the cat… could car less as long as it doesn’t get in the way of attention for the dog… she (the dog) is a diva but has better manners than the diva cat…
