Well, I missed all last week posting due to …. a four letter word…. WORK… it sucks to keep doing that…
I had to make a trip to Duncan America to help out with an investigation. Mostly it was for a reporting purpose as they had already done the investigation, found out what they wanted and had devised some actions to correct the problem but the completion of the full work up found a few missing items but took me a week to get it done.
While in Duncan I got to visit with some old associates and catch up on a few things as well as visit some of the old eating establishments… no need to write about the work stuff cause it was … WORK… duh!… The first night I was late getting finished up so the meal was nothing to talk about… fast food and quick to motel to warm up and get some sleep… the next night I met with an old associate and we made a run down to Meridian… to have Catfish at Bob’s. It is not as good as Bills way on down by the river but hey… you don’t have to drive an hour to get there either… it is pretty good in it’s own right… We enjoyed our fish dinners and enjoyed more setting and talking for an hour or more…
The next night I had dinner with another old associate and they took me to the Interurban… it has taken over the old restaurant at the Elks Club in Duncan… The food was decent… really it was excellent for Duncan since they mostly have fast food places there now…
I finished up my WORK Thursday with a meeting on some other issues and then headed north… I needed gas in Chickasha so stopped to get some and figured while there, why not visit an old favorite BarBQue place… My Dad has said he used to go to a Roy’s in Chickasha but I think it was a different place as this one has only been in business since the 70’s and the one Dad went to was there in the late 40’s… but in any case it is pretty decent BarBQue and an interesting old place… the menu is pretty short… if you don’t want BarBQue or fresh home made pie… your out of luck… I like there sauce better than most and the waffle fries are great as a go along to the simple Bar B que…
on the right leaned up to the wall is Roy his self… and the lady in black is a waitress that has been there , I think since before Roy started cooking!… ha!
on the rack behind here are some of the greatest looking home made pies… but being a good fella I didn’t have any…
This place has a simple menu… no frills and not much to mess you up when ordering…

I got home fine and Friday did a few WORK things but mostly tried to get some last minute things done… they dealer had not sent the paperwork for my tags yet and we are past the 30 days… had to make some calls to find out the 30 days starts when they get the paper work in to release the vehicle form a previous loan… ok… so I have a few more weeks to go… I also had some “add on parts” that came in last week so I spent some time Saturday evening putting them on…

The front end fixes to limit the number of rocks and bugs that get into the radiator… and some black circles for the eyes… ha! also put in some “oh-sh_t” handles on the roll bar , mostly so we can get in and out easier… or at least short people can… I also put a better ground on the antenna I put on a few weeks ago… since I was not satisfied with the mount ground… still might need to put some stiffing bracket on it as the antenna I use is a bit heavier than the bracket is built for? maybe?
We also were busy with attending sporting events… Wrestling on Friday night… good to see the wrestling team winning like they normally do… they have had a struggle this year in duals… but they have been facing up to stiffer competition than normal… then we went to the Men’s BB game and watch a horrible display of a game… I am not sure what is going on but they did not play anything like they did a month ago… too much quick shooting, not enough running the offense and almost no rebounding… from my view… they deserved to loose and if they don’t get it back on track… they are done for the year… even with some great individual players they are not playing as a team anymore… Beyond that we got home and watched the last part of the women’s game and they too gave it up… no response to the opponents ability to take them out of their game… although you have to get credit the other team had a couple of players step up when the stars were down and we didn’t… so with two losses on Saturday it was a downer day… Today… even though I would like for Denver to win… I just can’t see them knocking off the better defense… ? so I am or didn’t watch the game… will read the reports later and know all I need to… I spent most of my afternoon and evening playing Radio… made a lot of contacts on 15 meters so that was fun… also had a really good QSO with a friend in Ohio for well over an hour, on 40meter… condx were really good for that tonight and we didn’t have anyone else in there to work against? usually we have to move due to over-riding signals… but not tonight… so that is the catch up for the week… this coming week… several more things to do and some more of that 4 letter word… WORK…
I may even have to get started on my taxes and that is not going to be fun so my attitude will be bad for the next couple of weeks I am sure… maybe even months… ha!…
