Friday I worked on the antenna and >>>>> sat outside… The temps got up to mid 60’s no wind or very little and it sure was enjoyable since the past weeks , maybe months have been just damn cold… but as good as that was it was a bit strange… setting out on the deck and I had this view?
The antenna work…? I moved the ends of the 160meter Windom to a SE/NW direction. Not sure it will make any difference, but one never knows how things are effected. So far not enough work to make any judgment. I did however work a lot of 15 meters and some 17 as well as a few of the lower bands in that move…
Today… I had a schedule with a fellow in Arkansas… worked great… captured the 50th state LOTW on 30 meters… now to fill in all the other bands… ha! lot of work to do for that and I have some plans to change up the dipole to a 160meter length from a 80 meter length? see how that effects things for that one?
Yesterday I did get the window visor/drip things put on… they are not as tight as the ones on the old jeep? but so far they are holding up…
On a totally different note but in the STRANGE column… That Darn Cat… has taken to flipping off the pill boxes… The wife and I have graduated to the “OLD FOLKS” life and have weekly pill boxes with all our necessary pills and such. We had kept them on the counter and during our presence the cat knows she is not to be up on the counters here, but when we are out… she gets up there, swats the boxes around till they dump off the counter and spill all over? Not sure what the situation is with all this but it is getting annoying? It does not appears she wants any of the pills as we find all of them and have only seen one or two that even appeared to have been tested…? we think it is that the pill cases rattle, so another item that has to be stored away…
Today… well just say we got out late, made the BB game and it was not a total STINKER but it is horrible the way we are playing but hey,,, thinking about it… we have lost 2 off first team and the number 7 guy… so yea, we are bad… currently the team is in danger of not making the tournament … they may have to have some big wins in the big 12 tournament to get a bid… really a strange year when they looked to be a top 5 team early then injury and idiocy took over and we may be lucky to not be the cellar dweller in the big 12… One more rant… pitiful crows in GAI today… I know the announcers said maybe 10K… that is bull… so many empty seats in the higher cost sections that it is ridiculous and I remember the years when you signed up and hoped to get a ticket then had to be there for years to work your way down from the rafters … not anymore… if you want to pay you can have a seat anywhere… maybe time to lower the cost and refill the arena or at least offer packages for reduced posse payments like if you have season in 3 other sports a 20% reduction? or something in that line? Oh well.
