Well it has been busy lately… doing some work , some play and some …. other things… The grandsons left Sunday and I did a little Ham Radio that evening. I have a Sunday evening sked with a friend in Ohio… this Sunday we tried a new mode to both of us and work MFSK16. Was a pretty good mode for us and the contact went well… even if we were a bit early by normal times for our PSK31 contacts over the winter… Beyond that I have been working some JT65 and JT9 , filling in my log book for WAS. Something I did not push for in the past but I got hooked on this JT65 and am focused on getting at least most of the HF bands done. I made a report on that in my Ham Blog here. I don’t post there a lot but when it is truly just ham stuff… I put it over there…
Today was a work day in the morning, had a contact with my boss online and got some other things done for the job… I also slipped to town and got a haircut… due to my lost focus yesterday (see the Ham Blog) I completely skipped an appointment to get it done at 4:30pm…
After lunch I got the motorhome out, hooked up the new Jeep and started my way to OKC… actually I was just going to test drive it to ensure the jeep wiring was right and all the stuff still worked, but once I got it one the road… I just went on to OKC. I had an appointment there for Thursday anyway to get the generator worked on. Seems it has lost it’s link to the coolant sensor or the sensor is out as it will fire fine, run about 5 minutes and then shut down… that is crap if you need it so better to fix it before I need it some day. We do have hopes of getting it out a bit this year but am not sure now… as we just signed up for a 10 day trip to Scotland this summer and that and some other planned time off for Sherrie is going to use up all her free vacation time. We will have to start doing some short weekends as we really need to be getting that thing out on the road some… might just have to become lake people for this summer… although it is usually too damn hot in OK for much? that is why I think the generator needs to be fixed… Oh and the jeep towed fine.. wiring was fine… all the lights worked… and the brake things worked… although I had to reset it to much lighter action than before.
Tonight … well, I am doing some hamming, catching up on my reading and writing these posts to get myself back into writing. I am not a good writer but I figure I should do a little every day as it helps keep the mind sharp and I will need these stories when my mind goes away… ha!
On another note today I spotted a guy that was a throw-back to my college days… I think he may be that old too?
Yep…cowboy with IFR jacket on… wranglers and they were creased… and ropers buckle…
Pants in boots? although most of us never did that, we wore Hushpuppies and pants on the outside of the boot, had to be “draggers”…
