A day to remember…

It sure was that.  Most of what we did today was to remember one things or another.  Strange it all falls on Easter weekend this year?

First up we were up and out of here before 7AM… Sherrie had volunteered to work the “Remember the 10” Fun run and had to be there at 7AM get her assignment and be ready for the start of the race at 9:15… So I was there as well.  I should have had her volunteer me but just never got to that point?  Anyway I did get a few pictures of the “run,Jog,Walk or what ever as a remembrance of the 10 that died from the OSU basketball family many years ago…

And Pete started the race… I think that police on the bike thought he was shot?  it Jumped a bit?  From this point it didin’t look like a huge crowd but they just kept coming… someone said about 1800 in the race this year… a bit down but I figure some of that was due to it being Easter weekend?

It is a bit surprising what some guys wore or didn’t wear?  I think this guy was actually one of the track team members and he came in pretty quick anyway…  but this was the start..

And of course there they go… not all running as you can tell but still  a lot of participation..

Oh and the lead guy at the first and the one right behind him at the finish line… from the back…

Even had a few Duck Dynasty want-a-bees…

This guy came in pretty quick pushing a buggy… !

I noticed at the start some of the baskeball players were in the tail end of the race but they didn’t stay at the end… and Coach Ford was out to support… Not sure why he didn’t run?

Didn’t’ get all of the BB team members, not all players some of the training staff were in the race but here were at least 3… ?

And they made this kid run or rather he was dragging the ladies along?

Well that was over by about 11 and we visited a friends food truck and picked up a little lunch… then headed home…

I worked so hard that I had to take a nap… but the day was not over yet…

About 4pm we headed back out to the art festival and dinner down town… strange it was on the same weekend and noticing that the flags were at half mast it was also remembrance of the Murrah Bombing on this day many (19) years ago…

Dinner was BarBQue at the Cherokee Strip… sorry, no pictures of that…

At the art show we walked it pretty fast… wasn’t really looking for anything so didn’t have to look too hard, but there were a lot of vendors there, small crowd at 5pm?

Last year there were a good number of old cars but this year they either were all gone by 5pm or just didn’t have a big turnout?

Ok, I saw this and immediately thought of Carl, a guy I used to work with… he does a lot of ‘journal” stuff and likes fancy note books and pens… he would of enjoyed this display…

And Sherrie always has to check out the OSU stuff… metal art that was pretty neat…

To end the day we made it to a special Saturday Night church session… Heard the sermon that they will hear tomorrow… but better music, I think? then home and vegetate a bit…
