It was a finish up the door day for me… Started my day off with some “HogSide” pieces and cheese… kind of a bacon and cheese sandwich on whole wheat toast… the bacon was in the frig and I figured I better eat it up before it got bad… Once that was down in the right spot I went out and did a finish sand to smooth up the closet doors and then put them together and brought in… had to do some adjusting to get them semi level. Seems not much of my house (doors) are really straight anymore… if they ever where? Although the closet it not bad it is about a 1/4 inch off from top to bottom on both sides so I lined up the middle as best I could and the tops of the doors so it looks ok. Not sure I like the redone door but it will due till we agree if it stays or gets replaced with another one like the other new done door… It is real hard to take on already stained, and finished and try to match up with a new one but I got close.
That project done I moved on to some cleaning , again, in the shop. I got so much crap out there I could clean for years to get it weeded down to a reasonable amount of stuff… I have also found that no matter what you save, you will forget you had it and go buy some new stuff then you have twice as much stuff!!!… and to top that off when you buy stuff you can’t just buy what you need anymore you get twice as much as you need so in the end you have four times as much left over… I think it is a trick the retailers use to get you to buy a lot of stuff…
For lunch I went down to Wendy’s and had lunch with a local bunch of Ham’s, not funny guys but the radio kind of guys, although some can be pretty funny… We almost got to see a disaster there as one of them was being nice and gathered up two trays of trash to throw out and in the process of holding one in each hand and trying to stand up and move his chair back he had to do a little dance maneuver to keep from being face down with both trays in front of him… Since he is a Geologist, we blamed it on an earthquake…
I finished that and made it back home and figured I had finished up the closet doors, why not work on the sticking front and back door… I spent the rest of the afternoon adjusting, rebuilding, etc. those two doors but now they don’t stick as bad and we can open the deadbolt much easier now… one had was hanging on the deadbolt and the other would not release from the outside with the latch, you had to squeeze and lift to get the door open… again I am not sure all my doors are still or ever were square and I am also sure that the house had settled a little… from the earthquakes… right?
For dinner we had left-overs… I always cook too much when I cook so we nearly always have left over stuff… some of it is pretty good as left over and some… well it is filling. I then did a little more radio and shop work and that was the big day here… no great pictures… saw that damn scissor tail but didn’t have the camera at that time , I had both hands full of mail and newspaper… oh well , will keep at it till I get one..
