Not much to tell about the weekend… I kind of had a bit lazy situation today as I was still recovering from my back ache. I really need to pace myself a bit more or not get down on my hands and knees as much?
This morning we were very rudely awakened at abt 3:45 am? or so…The Weather Radio I got to replace the one that was broke started going off… something about severe Thunderstorms and hail… I listened a bit to the first time and a bit less to the second time and less to the third time and form there I don’t remember much other than punching the off button… Yep, I slept through the big storms that came through… Sherrie was awake through most of it and I hope she would have drug me out and down stairs if we needed to. Seems we didn’t get much if any of the hail but we sure got the wind… I found flower pots and pieces all over north of the house this morning when I did get out. Oh and the flashbacks???? I can remember that I got real good with my alarm when I was in college.. My room mate even said I could tell when it was getting ready to go off and flip it off before it buzzed? I am not sure about all that but I do remember I may have missed a few classes? I also remember that I could hit the floor, be dressed and out and in class in about 8 minutes… at that time we lived in Parker Hall so class was not a great distance for me although I did have a couple of classes in the Class room building and Engineering North… still made it to all those that I actually got up for…
The rest of our day was spent doing not much of anything… Got an email and sold an older laptop that I had upgraded… and we had lunch at Boomer Lake park today, although the wind was really blowing so it was not a “real” picnic lunch… but nice anyway. Got home and made a few contacts on the radio… had one with my friend in Ohio (our normal every Sunday schedule) and then cleaned up my Eqsl cards… I usually download them and then archive all of them away..
That was about it for our day… other than the cat sure was friendly when I got back in this evening… seems I had forgotten to feed her at 6pm like normal and she wanted to make sure I was softened up to remember… she got fed, and was happy and the dog got to lick the spoon and was happy so in all it worked out ok today… no pictures although I probably should have gotten a few.
One situation that I thought was a bit funny , we stopped at Wal-Mart after lunch to pick up some things… I was walking down the isle on the left side and a guy about my age maybe a bit older was coming the other way with a cart… he glared at me and indicated that I needed to be on the right hand side of that isle so I had to step over for him to go by with his cart…? I guess we need to walk in the proper lane, like driving? what if we had been in an English based country would I have been on the proper side of the aisle there? Just thought it was a bit funny that I had to skip over as he was not going to change his direction at all…
