OK, we didn’t get the rain, at all… we got 30 mph wind from South yesterday and about the same from the north today… It was cold out this morning. I had planned on getting my walk in but I also had to be here to let in the cleaning lady and I decided I wanted the whole floor cleaned, so I was moving out all the furniture from the walls to ensure we got up close and cleared all the back spots. That dog had brought in all of the outdoors and she is just a little thing? or was it the cat? To top that off that cat sheds worse than most dogs? but she is getting to where she wants to be out side more so that helps… watched her this morning and she came damn close to catching one of the birds that was not expecting here to jump out… I am not sure she would know what to do with it if she caught it but she is busy defending the back porch now…
So we got the house cleaned… I got some more shop cleaned out and sold some more old Ham stuff… Local guy bought something I had planned to use 5 years ago but then changed plans so it was new and excess… I have also sold a Heathkit noise bridge to a Heathkit collector… nice to send it to a proper home. I just never used it enough to make it worth keeping.
Next up was lunch in town… another day for “I don’t car’ well I don’t care either” type discussion and ending at Jimmy Johns…
Once I got home I hooked up the trailer and went back to town to pick up some supplies… work supplies. got some bags of sac-crete and cinder blocks and a jug of crack seal…
I got all that home, unloaded all of it and then started to hand mix… you know I don’t like those 80lb bags anymore… remember the days of handling 100lb bags out in the field or 80 lb. bales of hay but now days… that is back pain work…
Got a feeling I am going to be a bit sore tomorrow…
hand mixing… this was one bag and I put in another , did two at a time in the wheel barrow, then dump and do it again…
that is about half way through… filled it on up about another 4 inches and when it is hard will mix some mortar and start placing the blocks under there to build up a wall…intend to cover that wall with the same stone that is on the house… I hope. That will be a new experience for me and it may look like crap so that is why I am doing a very small piece to start with… if this turns out, I have another 10 feet on the other side that needs to be dug out, base poured and some blocks put in place with a few stones… and probably some screen at the top for air flow. Should divert the down spout water a bit better than it is currently doing…
After mixing that and smoothing it out I got things cleaned up and then went to play with my new Amazon Prime TV thingee… it came today… First had to make a long network cable to get to it from the switch. The network cable I had didn’t have very good color marking on it so I struggled some getting it to work but finally got it made up , after maybe 3 failures… and tested out… neat little box but you have to be careful… you can slip off and end up purchasing movies instead of just seeing all those free ones that I should be getting from the prime subscription… I did watch a episode of Duck Dynasty… pretty cool with no commercials…
Tomorrow? not sure but hope to get my walk in first then focus on another one of my many projects… still sorting and cleaning out screws and stuff… got them damn things all over the place in the tool box drawers in boxes, in containers… get some of them sorted , I won’t have to keep going to buy so many as I find I have more than enough, just couldn’t find the damn things…
