One Small project

I got up and made my 3+ mile walk today… didn’t want to but figured I better stay on schedule and get these exercise walks in… It wasn’t too bad out this morning and I felt a little better after the exercise.  My breakfast was simple , again, juice and toast… (whole wheat)… From there I went to the shop and started getting the tools and items out that would be needed.  I still had to put screws in the screen to the board, had to put screws in the blocks to hold the cement screen up so it would hold the cement rocks up… then I had to dig out the rocks that were needed for the wall and get them in the right places… so most of the morning was getting things rounded up and ready.

At this point I had been under that landing about 4 times to get the boards right and get the lattice pulled up and screwed in place… I also had the cement screen in place and some of the rocks laid out… the wheel barrow has the first batch of mortar in it and I am getting on the finish of the stair portion…

OK, I finished up the project but it took all day messing with little stuff… I would have fired myself since it took so long to get this done but hey, I am in-expensive right now…. Now it is finished,  well as much as I have the parts for.  I am still waiting to hear about the down spout parts, but they won’t take but a hour to replace… if all goes as planned… I am just replacing the end of the current down spout to run a different direction and adding on a 5 or 6 ft. piece to follow that direction away from the steps…

This afternoon about 5pm… I am sure I will need to put some more dirt in the things once it settles down… and I still need to get that ugly hose out and the drain run down along the stair stringer and way from the new wall…

It looks better than this… now… hope.

About the time I got done, the UPS guy showed up with my new tuner… I had ordered a new antenna tuner with meter for my wire antennas… It works pretty good so far… but need a lot more testing to make sure…

I like the nice big meter… I can see it and the auto tune works pretty good… a bit slow but will get faster as the memories get set for frequencies I use… So I got on and made several contacts on 17 meters… the band was open and working but the upper ones I had been on earlier this week were dead so I settled for seeking out contacts on 17…
