I got a real slow start today… work lag, like jet lag but comes after several days of Man U al labor… I packed it up and went in for breakfast today… probably shouldn’t but hey, I had cereal for supper last night. Got back and did a little shop maintenance and then some radio play time… not much happening but I had the new tuner to do some testing with… something I like , some things I am not sure about… I doesn’t tune my antennas well on 6 meters and will not save the tune to memory? It is supposed to save the tune when ever it gets one for that frequency but it says it can’t find the frequency? thought that link to the radio was supposed to tell it that? oh well, more testing is needed.
Stupid me, I got ready, put the dog in the crate, headed to town and got to my wifes work place… but she had told me early that she had a lunch meeting and I was on my own for lunch… took me about 15 minutes there to figure that out and remember that I was on my own? oh well, old timers, is sometimers, and a lot of short timers… So on my own I went to Wendy’s… cause I have coupons for there… still not seeing that my coupon saved me very much… price for the chicken sandwich meal is 6.99 with tax would be 7.??? and my total with the free sandwich coupon was … 5.64… I guess that is about $2 but at the time I wondered if I was saving anything…
I got back home and pulled the mower out… figured I better get the grass mowed at least once this month… and some spots needed it but most haven’t grown at all… I got the whole yard mowed and did some trimming around the house and shop and got the mower put back up by 4:00 and then it was back out in the shop… I still have a big mess in there and I need to find some old coke cans to repair my grandsons airplane… I may have to improvise some similar coke cans as I can’t find any that are really close…
I fixed the evening meal of “loaded baked potatoes”… pulled out some bakers… nuked them… and then, from the freezer, pulled out some pulled pork from grilling a couple months ago. I have started putting our grilled stuff in vacuum freezer bags and in the amounts that serve about one meal plus… and I usually go ahead and grill enough for several meals… Anyway the loaded backed were pretty good… After dinner back to the shop… seems like that is all I am doing these days but there is a lot to do out there… so what happened this evening???
Ok, we all know that cats and dogs do not get along… well they are not supposed to but, we have a pair that tolerate each other and at times act as if they could play with each other but then the cat must think about it and stops and reminds the dog to show some respect…
In the past I had let the cat out… when ever the dog wanted out I would ask here “where is that stupid cat” … several times she has charged out the door in search and has actually run over the cat several times when she found her… She has also gone out and stood on the landing (the one from yesterday) and looked down as the cat tends to hide under that place… maybe she will still hide there but I have shut out the back door now… anyway she will go in search and tries to get the cat to play… you know the dog thing of “sniff my but” happens too and the cat give the dog that look of “you must be kidding” …
Tonight they were both out roaming a bit around the shop as I was on the radio, again… trying my best to work some 6 meters… I did get a very small opening and worked Mississippi but it fell out before we could change modes as he wanted to work JT9 as well as JT65… anyway to the cat and dog… I am working on the radio and there is a flash of black and then white through the shop( I had both doors open to get a good breeze going… At first I though the dog just was sending the cat on out of the shop as she thinks it is her domain and has to come out when I am out here… Anyway, and I am pretty sure they circled the house as I wheeled back to see and they were still charging hard around the front corner of the house… when I saw that I decided they were headed to the front porch but in about 2 or 3 minutes here they come again… same direction and same speed… this time I think the cat stopped and gave the dog that “ok fun time is over” swat… Next thing I know is I step to the back door and both of them are at the deck door wanting in… the dog was thirsty and the cat was hot… I went, let them in and the dog lapped up on the water and cat did a sprawl on the kitchen tile floor…
Never a dull moment here… sorry no camera on this one, I was busy at the time…
