Scotland Day 6

Too much stuff, will be updated when I get time to post it all…

Left Aberdeen and headed to ABC 6 or 12?  This one is the Queen mothers home castle Glamis Castle.

Strange that the main part is the tall portions and the two sides… big rooms in the lower portions as the tall pices was added on to several times and has some very old small halls, then some bigger stuff… and a lot of up, down, around and over and up and over and down steps to different sections… and we only got up to the second floor… the tops floors have been closed off for about 100 years… well closed to any activity…

The layout is much bigger still

In this picture all the stuff to the right ??? no idea what that is… lot more building that way so may be offices, workers quarters, etc…

Nice location and dramatic coming in…

After that we headed to St Andrews… yes the place of the golf course…so I can say I saw the St Andrews golf course and a lot more..

We were told it was where they tee off… not actually at the clubhouse..

The club house is way down there in the center…

But St Andrews is a lot more than the golf course… it has an old Castle.. ABC #? and it has a huge huge church ground from the old original church..

The castle… or what is left.

The front of the old church…

That is what it used to look like… I was actually off to the lefgt and back a ways with that picture.

The church also had a huge grave yard all the way around and the structue in the back was the entrane to the East Grave yard… we are actually getting into the church area here…

Lot of grave tombs… but first I have seen with a proposed date this old…

1440?

Supposedly the front door? pretty big…

On the way back to the bus… looking back at the church… on the right was a covered b ridge to the grounds around the church… as there was a wall all around…

During our walk around town we got to see some birds… that were real and tame..

This owl was really cool looking..

We left there and got into Edinburgh and went to a show (Taste of Scotland) and dinner at the RuhBarb… ( the round stable turned into the show place). named after fruit that some professor brought to scotland back in the 1800’s…

And that was a very long day, with one more day of castles and sightseeing left we are about wore out…
