The new dog
and cat
have reached a mutual understanding… “We both live here so we are going to agree to be in the same room”… but the cat makes it clear when the dog has been close enough or she has had all the dog she wants… so far…. no bloody nose or big fight… but the warning (from the cat) pops up every so often. Just not as strongly visual as before.
In further reference to the New Dog… he is that “Bull in a China Shop”…
Nearly everything he does is on the run and mostly over stuff, through stuff and into stuff… sometimes me…today I went out the shop for a screwdriver and they dogs followed… I got the tool I needed and did my usual whistle to make sure they followed… they did but the black dog was a bit slow getting out? and upon coming out the door ran right into my leg and we almost were on the ground over that… not sure what he was thinking but it couldn’t have been the right stuff… in other situations… I offer to take them outside… he has to jump over furniture and bang into the door, or several doors before he gets it lined out… On coming back in he doesn’t go for the first step but may try for the third and usually stumbles his way on up… signaling to go in… same thing will bound into the door before it is open… although he does get his paws up most of the time… if he wants to see out the back windows… where we have a couch in front , he is up on the couch and nose into the window and splattering stuff on the window sill… just not a graceful dog..
The afternoon was spent trying to not get wet… the rain set in just after lunch and stayed… off and on all afternoon and evening… slow gentle to sometimes pretty hard rain but straight down very little wind… and a temp of 64 at 4:30 pm and going down… more like a mountain shower and temps than Oklahoma in July?
Tonight I cooked dinner – fried squash from out garden, grilled a single burger patty… and some of the sweet corn from Saturday… I know we should have some green stuff but hey… you get what I fix , when I fix it… might do Green Chili tomorrow…
I also made a few radio contacts and finally got a confirmation of my last state for 17 meters… that is 4 of 9 bands completed in my quest for 9 Band WAS… was a real quiet night on the radio… most of the bands were pretty quiet and not much activity… I can’t say they were dead as I made contacts on 80 and 17 with no big problems but seems everyone is out or off or maybe it was just working here?
