Just for a note… didn’t do much over the weekend… some radio contacts, worked on the power controller project, set on the back deck… and not much else, oh did make it to the farmers market Saturday for some fresh corn and stuff… Did a bit of out and about…
In the parking lot at JoAnns… waiting while Sherrie got some more yarn…
Yesterday evening captured the cat in the garage on her seat…
If she would learn to drive and do the mowing I would be happy… not likely..
Today, I got my walk in a bit earlier… the little dog was barking at sun-up and wanted out… so I got up and let them out and then just put my shoes on and went for my walk… Big mistake… left them out while I went and though Sherrie might be up but she was down with a headache so when I got back… the black dog had been in the small trash can, pulled some paper towels and candy wrappers and other stuff and it was all over the living room… That dog thinks he is starving all the time and looks for snack everywhere… cat litter box, dried other dogs leavings, dead bugs, dead frogs, you name it he will eat it and everything other than his dog food gives him the runs… Oh that was the big deal over the weekend… Sherrie was here while I was out for something and she had to clean up a dog run… I had done it a week or so ago… the first time I think it was from french fries… this time he grabbed the rawhide bone (left over part ) from the white dog and proceeded to slobber all over it till it was soft then ate it… did all that in about 2 hours where the white dog could chew on it for days… All day Sunday we had to let him out and he would be in the thrown position for extended periods… but I doubt that he learns from it as he is still hunting the trash can, the other dog crate, the cat crate and any other box left open…
On my walk I found that our neighbor’s young daughter must be ? anyway they got TP’d and she was cleaning it up when I got back… don’t think Dad was real happy as it was 7am when she was cleaning up… I noticed another house on my walk that got the same treatment…
Oh and It must have been Friday that the guy came back that had done our street numbers on the curb… this time he added the logo… pretty good job..
only took him about 15 minutes but he has the stencils for it and just uses spray paint… they were pretty faded out and I had thought I needed to fix them up but wasn’t sure I could do the logo’s , so sure glad he came by…
After I cleaned up the dog mess, I had a breakfast bar and juice on the back deck to cool down… nice out in the morning… then figured I needed to get some work done today, since I pooped off all weekend… so I started with hand mixing the last few bags of cement and placing in spots on the drain ditch that tend to wash out or move the rocks down… looks like I am going to need another load of cement bags… used up 4 on the little bit I got done…
The placement runs way on up to the top of the photo on the far side to lock in some of the rocks on that side… so maybe another 15 bags? since I have a big hole to fill below this…
Then I got busy and cleared out some brush… one of the old wild rose bushes died and I cleaned it out and some trimmed limbs and then also cut up a pallet or two … need to burn that pile early some day and then collect some more..
While I was checking plants, and picking tomatoes I saw this guy trying to hide…
He doesn’t eat enough , we still have a lot of bugs…
Tonight I made a trip to Wal Mart to get some headache pills for Sherrie and a Subway sandwich… on my way in I spotted something really odd for 6pm… 3 adjacent open parking spots at the front of the row? when I am driving around looking I can’t find anything at the front, even late at night or very early in the morning… just by luck I might get one at the other door?
So that was about the full extent of my extremely boring days… so much fun I just can’t explain it all… well, it was interesting yesterday… the neighbor that just bought the acreage to the north is putting in some livestock… they are outside the city limits and I am inside…? Anyway they have been buying chickens…and ducks and have converted a loafing shed into a chicken coop… since the are not agriculturally inclined they are getting just any old set of chickens… so they have a really mixed bunch but ended up with a couple of rooster and both are Bantam and they have a few hens and some with the feathered feet… Yesterday, one of them got through or over the fence and it was a chase to get it back last night… I watched for some time then had to get in an help “herd” the chicken to a point he could catch it and put it over the fence… hopefully they have the holes plugged now? ha!… so when I set on the deck I can hear that little rooster crow every morning and most evening… wish I had gotten pictures of the chase… but that was why I figured I needed to clean out some brush in that area as well… Just going to be a lot of fun watching them with the animals… oh and they have some sheep too but they haven’t gotten out yet, on my side… Not sure he realized how much work they were getting into by putting in the livestock and having them way away from the house? I would have put the chicken a bit closer to the front of the property, more for protection out here… I am not going to notice if the fox or coyote decided to make a run through here? Although the next neighbor up had cleared out so many trees that there isn’t much wildlife left in the farm behind… and she is determined to keep it mowed down so there isn’t any cover for even the quail that used to be out there… oh well, not mine to worry about.
