Was up and out early… needed to get some new bug spray as the stuff I have they like it too much… seems they were growing faster with the Seven dust? So I stopped at McD’s for breakfast… pancakes with sausage and large un-sweet iced tea… yea, I drink a lot of un-sweet iced tea to make up for the other sweet stuff and calories that I take in… but you can’t beat the price at $3.50 total and I can watch ESPN on the TV and maybe read the morning paper when I get there at the right time… but I was on a mission for other things… got on into Lowes by 9am and picked up the new bug spray and some pieces of clear hose… I had found my old Oklahoma Credit Card (siphon hand pump) in the tool cabinet but didn’t have any of the right sized hose for the ends… Needed it yesterday as I ran out of gas for the weed eater and needed to get some back out of the big tanks on the mower but by Oklahoma Credit Card was broke so I had to take the small gas can to the station and get a gallon..
I got clear hose that was just the same size as the ends and used a big punch to stretch out the end a bit to slip over the ends of the squeeze pump and now they are tight fight on both ends, so if I need a little gas I can get it with out tasting it… ha!
When I got home I mixed up the spray and promptly gave the bugs a new taste and most of them didn’t like this stuff near as much as the old stuff… it appeared they were moving out in all directions… although it may be too late for my peppers and squash… the peppers are gone and the squash looked like it might be done as well but giving it a shot..
Right after that I got out the power wash and started on the back deck… a 60ft by 10 ft. deck is a lot of washing!… I got the steps done before I left for lunch and then got another 20 feet of the deck done by 6pm after lunch… oh and I mowed the back yard too (that was a 2 hour piece just after lunch)… so I covered a lot of stuff today, just doesn’t look like it…
The back deck was pretty dirty and bleached an may need a second washing?
Washed once on the right and not washed on the left…
That is what is left to do, plus the outside of the brace below the deck and the railing… that railing is what takes so much time doing each little piece… and hanging over the rail to get the outside parts is easier than moving the ladder along as this deck is about 15 to feet above the ground below. once it is all washed up good and dry then I will have to start on the oil applications? or hire it done?
I sure hope the back ends up like the front…
Even that may need another coat on the steps and railing that is out from under the roof? giving it a bit of time then will swab on another coat for the steps… they were really dry and bleached… The things of retired life, little projects never end…
She was inspecting the job and gave indication I need to do more to get it cleaned up… and don’t forget the stools…
