Dark start-Dark finish

Today was the drive home… we didn’t get up real early but did get started before the sun came up..

And this was after a stop at Mickey-D’s for breakfast… I know not the best stuff but it was handy, easy and cheap…

On our way out of the area we did stop at the “windmill farm”… seems it is a private collection and the guy has a lot to look at.. someday we may have to stop by and have him explain them all…

We did make one stop in Simla so Sherrie could get the lumbar pillows out… they do help..

We stopped here but I think the Laundromat ahs been closed for a very long time?

We  zipped right along and the road was clear but I could see that it had been packed, snow wise and a lot of signs of people spun off in the median of the interstate…  One other observation was that the temps in CSprings when we left were near 32deg… by the time we hit Burlington it was 14deg?  what’s up with that? But when we got home it was 39deg… much better…

oh and we had to take a detour in Burlington, wanted to check out the Kit Carson carousel… but it is inside a museum that is closed… Sherrie said it used to be in the middle of town out in the open… not now…  The streets there were packed and looked like they had a lot of snow or a lot of blowing snow?  in the past few days… for us the wind was blowing the other way today…

As we left Burlington we made one stop (for necessary purposes)… and attached to the little store/gas station was a restaurant and they do advertise with some amount of truth…

We hustled on down the road… through Kansas with a stop in Hayes for lunch at Qdoba and a bit of gas to get me to Salina where it is about 25 cents cheaper  per gallon… stopped at the Sam’s in Salina and filled up… cheaper than at home… ? then on south into Oklahoma and watched the sun go down about 25 miles from home… we didn’t stop a lot but seems it took us a bit more time and I was pushing 78 mph on interstate 70..? a few stops can sure kill the time… oh well…

When we got home Miss Lilly the cat was right there and wanted in the house… having been shut out to the garage only for 5 or 6 days wore on here and she wanted some attention, better wet food, and to lay on the couch in the dog spots… so she did all evening…

Things here are the same… got unpacked , rested a bit , played radio a bit and off to bed… tomorrow I start working on my receipts for taxes.. weed out the ones I don’t need, put the others in a “tax” box for figuring later.. and start new files for 2015… oh boy such fun…
