Today was one of those , for Oklahoma… Granted it started out a bit cold here but by 10:30 it was going to be great and by 3pm it was great… very little wind, in the 70’s and sunshine… can’t get much better here. Today I had to wait around for the Heating and Air guys to come and do the spring check on my Geothermal system… make sure it is running in specs and all. now that we have replaced the pumps (twice) and the leaky coil, it is doing fine and my electric bill has come down even more… Once they were done I put the haul-hitch on the jeep and took off… I had several stops to make and damn if I didn’t forget one… The forgotten was that I needed to haul off the recycle glass. They are supposed to pick it up one a month I forget which week that is so when I go in to town I just drop it at the center… no t a big deal as I get by there weekly anyway… but today???? I forgot to load it up when I left so it will have to be done ???? next week. I did get to Tractor Supply and picked up some softener salt… according to the installer they have the cleanest salt so that is what I got… then on to have some lunch… Burger King… I don’t go there often and Sherrie is not real fond of it as it is by the east Wal-Mart and generally it is patronized by a lot of Walmartians… you know the ones..
yep this guy came in the BK … I got the above at the Arby’s, so he gets around… probably a real nice guy and might even be a retired professor or something but he is a bit more rugged looking than I am and I hate to shave too but do get it trimmed out monthly… maybe I should let mine grow out a bit more… but the snow white is what sets it off… there were also the usual zero wearing crowd… unlikely they knew where the University was? and others… I go cause it is nice to be one of the more handsome ones in a place for a change… ha!
I then slipped over and got some gas at the Murphy… they dropped the price today??? still higher than OKC by about 15 cents? but oh well… then on up the road to Lowes… picked up some drip system parts and some bags of premium mulch…
they had a special 5 bags for $10… at $2 per 2CUFT that is damn close to what I pay for bulk so I got some colored stuff for the front flower bed…
But first you always have to go scrape out the weeds, clean it up a bit, etc.… so just not as easy as dumping the mulch out… but finally
now it needs some new flowers…? I have one set of white Petunias that made it through the winter…
Yesterday it was not as nice out and I had to wait for the water softener installer to get it put in… yep we finally broke down and got a softener put in… Anyway, before and after that I worked on getting my citronella plants and stuff back outside… they were needed some trims and clean up and all …
Got the plant mover back out from downstairs and trimmed all the plants back…watered, and ready for summer…
I did start two new pots of this but have a lot of cutting left over, incase someone would like to start some of there own?
I also started a big pot of Green Chili… this time it as 2x2x1x2…. put in 2 lbs. of Boston Burger (60% ground beef/40% ground pork)… browned then add some chili powder, some garlic, some onion and 2 large cans of chopped green chilies, 2 cans of Hatch tomatoes and Green chilies… and the big bottle (or 2 small) of the 505 Green chili sauce… … I then add 2 cans (from the green Hatch cans) of water with a couple spoons of flour stirred in to make the total a bit thicker for putting on burritos and such…
It makes a pretty big batch but we dip out enough for supper ( on bean and cheese burritos), then I split into freezer bags about the same amount and freeze it… that way I can pull a bag, microwave, and fix a few burritos and we have smothered burrito dinner again… or smother a hamburger or ??? maybe just a big bowl of green chili… this is the quick and easy variety …
One thing that came up while moving stuff out for the softener install and .??? I found another big bunch of videos… some I thought we had lots??? now I have 36 hours more to convert to digital…
and you don’t do this in any fast method… I have to get it all set, and punch the record on the software and play the video so it comes out… guess I have a about a weeks worth of converting to do ….. that might take me a month? I don’t work fast anymore… but all our old videos will be digital and saved in multiple backups so they can be shared as well… I did see a few that I may need to pick out some single frames of… interesting things went on back in the 90’s… ha!
