Just another day in the retirement jungle out here. Sherrie took off to work today but within a few hours she was headed to the Doctor office… another flare of Diverticulitis… so she was home before noon. I had to head back in to pick up meds and mints and other stuff…
Off I went and figured since she was not in the mood , I would have lunch while out and hit one of the places we never go to… I stopped at Burger King as I do like to see the Walmartians some times… This Burger King is out in front of the East Walmart here and that one is the bonified leader in this part of the world for Walmartians… you know the ones, pink hair, or 10 sizes too small clothes or ??? well anyway you get to see things you normally don’t get to see and a lot of times you wish you hadn’t seen it… but it is part of the fun in retired life… There was a big crowd but most of them were hard working normal people today… darn , just my luck… I did come across another one of those new MULTI- coke machines… I don’t drink coke, do occasionally get a diet coke but seldom anymore… I stick to plain old un-sweet tea… but at this establishment You have to stand in the pickup line and request the tea… no dispenser at the soft drink counter… They do have one of those new push button machines that dispenses all the flavored coke, Dr. Pepper, etc. that you could ask for … the major thing I hate about these new machines… no matter how you try the damn thing will drip on your hand, even if your just getting ice or water … it will drip on you… and if the last person had coke it will be sticky and nasty… I hate that… oh well progress right?
They were a bit slow today but I did get that at noon and the drive through was packed… so I had to just accept that it would be slow… I got my BK jr. and large iced tea and realized that the cost of their large drink defeats the purpose of using a coupon for a sandwich… it is bout twice the cost of the big ones at Sonic and McDonalds… hummm always a trick somewhere.
I made my stops at the West Walmart for mints and the pharmacy for meds and got on home. Once home I tinkered with some electronic parts then determined that it would be a good ay to wash the car since it was home and it really needed to be washed… think the last time it got a bath was in the automatic car wash back last fall? or maybe in January? not sure… Anyway I gave it a good hand rub, blacked the tires, polished the wheels and did my best to get the bug juice stains off the front bumper… which was not so great but got it rubbed down some and then used some rain-x cleaner on the windows so it is all nice and shiny… for a while..
That project took all afternoon… or what was left of it… Sure glad I had gotten an extra stuffed baked potato with turkey Monday as that was my dinner tonight and mighty tasty…
After that I made it out to the shop and in checking some things on the blog found it had updated and lost all my header pics, settings and widths. I hate when it does that and usually it won’t update automatic? So I spent another couple of hours fixing what had been undone… I am never sure it it gets back to where it was or not? but I get close… I do save the setup files but for some reason some of the theme updates drops out where the setup files are not all the same, even though they say they are… oh well… I am retired and can play with stuff like that…
That ended the day and I didn’t even get on the radio? I did however watch the live edition of Ham Nation on Twit.tv… They do a really nice show and it is more down to every hams level… although a few of those advanced guys may find it boring I think it is pretty good… They always seem to have something that I had missed or forgot to talk about…
Well, need a shower and hit the sack… I might have to wash the jeep tomorrow?
