Well, I haven’t been reliable at writing down what we have done but that is indicative of … “ We ain’t done nothing” type stuff… Since Sherrie is in recovery from a little issue we just sat around a lot … Saturday??? I worked on some stuff in the shop but it was wet out so didn’t get hardly anything done outside… Mostly cause it looked a lot like this…
off and on rain stuff… although it was cool enough that I spent some time on the back deck, reading and such…
Sunday, we got out a little bit… I wanted to find an RV park south of town… Brixley lake??? well I found it… aint’ enough there to post about… they do have 20 something sites but only one RV in that place and didn’t look like anyone had been in there for a while… the hay had been mowed so you could see the electric pedestals but might have a time finding the sewer connections?
From there we decided to take a drive east to find another spot I had heard about… never really found that spot but did get a few shots…
Another of those old barns that is just about done?
Now that is one WAHOOO swing set… talker than the peak of the house… !
Hadn’t seen these in some time… really busy rolling that ball ….. Dung Beetle
So that was about it… out for a small drive and didn‘t see anything really exciting…
This fellow did come to show off and stayed on the door for an hour… open, close… open, close… ha!
Monday morning I had an appointment to get the new dog in for some shot updates… just in case he needs to spend some time at the kennel… he was happy to get out…
I did spot that someone had drastically missed the corner at the vet’s???
That pedestal was a long way from the corner in either direction ? and I doubt that a mower could do that much damage… ?
Then when I was on my way home after lunch… I caught this guy… I could do that job… I think….
Ne is behind the yellow tape… hard to get the picture… laying down… I don’t think he was listening to the ground for the buffalo herd? but could be?
I do think he may have been siting down a string line? for what purpose I am not sure but it looked like a job I might be good at…
Today, I figured I might mow but when I got up it was really wet out, so we got another small rain … checked the weather station and yep… came a shower at about 5am or so… that kind of ruined my plan for mowing but ? if the sun would come out for a couple hours???? I did get the trailer hooked up and made some huge tracked getting it out… ooops didn’t figure it to be that soft … but that even made my plan for mowing less likely to happen… but I got to Lowes and picked up some lumber for my antennas project ( putting up some ends to hold up the 160 meter loop… )… Once that was back and unloaded… still too wet to mow… so went to digging in my can collection and found some very special cans for GW2’s next airplane… he wants the tri-wing Fokker so I intend to get that done in the next month… Anyway forgot that I had some special Gold cans that would make a really cool Tri-wing… and look good with the black/blue plane I put up last fall for him… Anyway got out some stuff and found some old tools I forgot I had down there… then off to lunch… I then went and paid some bills and wasted some time and the sun did come out but not very long… Got home and worked on some more minor stuff and figured I should get out and check the yard… maybe I could get the mowing in before I either had to hire some one to bale it. We have another round of rain coming for the next 3 days so it would be really bad if I waited another week to mow… on my way out to check I came on this…
That sucker was every bit of 7 ft. long… so My decision was made… wet or not… we mow. I do not need them hiding in the grass up close to the house.. I got the mower out and got busy with the mowing and boy it was wet and bogging down pretty hard but I was getting through most of it…had to leave a few spots that were just too muddy to get that heavy mower through with the smooth turf tires… I got it all done a little after 6pm… whew… still needed to do some trim but with in 45 minutes… we got a damn big rain… over half inch coming down hard and straight… not often in Oklahoma do you see rain coming straight down… but it sure did… and
My drain ditch was flowing pretty good again… we may fill the pond yet… highest it has been for some time… and more on the way…So it made me really glad I jumped on the chance to mow… not that I will thank the snake for pushing me over the edge but it needed to be done…
The rest of my evening was done going over the plans for the tri-wing, gathering some pieces for it and watching it rain some…
