All I have been able to do is get parts, fix broken stuff, get parts, fix broken stuff… since the lightening strike. Oh and deal with the insurance. I can’t complain as they are paying up but every time I find something and turn it in or order parts they get confused and we have to go over the list again and figure out where “they” are off…
So far I have the security cameras working (half ass) replaced one, and took a day to get it programed and working on the software… never figured out why it wouldn’t work at first but it finally came up. two m more are real fuzzy… moved two to fill in and ordered several more to replace some that are out.
Worked on the computers… you know, when you get a new computer the hassle of getting all your software on the new one and making it work… never works the same so you have to figure out what was missing… well that has been a big portion of my past weeks… to say I have too much stuff working via computer is probably a correct statement… I have the security cameras, weather station that upload to the internet pages, and my Ham radio works off the computer now as I am almost totally digital (instead of voice = a problem of hearing loss make voice pretty difficult but the digital is reading and responding)… At present I am about 80% back up and running… lot of little things I am changing since the old is gone , why not make it a bit better… like the new security cameras… the new one is HD and way better in the dark… oh well just more stuff to work on for a retired guy… ha!
now to some things I have done out side all that… had to make two trips to OKC. One for my Colon Dr… he didn’t even want to look at his handy work… just asked if everything was ok and that I should come back and have the tests done for cancer pre-risk id… sure why not since since there is some cancer in the family… all it will do is justify my yearly visits to him and bi-annual colonoscopy… most people can go 5 or 10 years with out enjoying that probe but not me… I have been a regular with him… oh well… nothing bad up there , just hemi’s that had to be removed… maybe it was too much oilfield work?
On my first trip to OKC I figured to check out the Rocky Mtn grill,… they are supposed to have Green Chili there and I am always looking for good Green Chili but what they have is a “politically” correct version (no pork)… hey it ain’t real green chili if it don’t have the pork… sorry… and the owner admitted the original recipe had pork in it but they had to take it out to suit the “area” non-pork eaters… what? won’t eat pork? sorry… I endured that for 9 years but I am home now… lived a different life and have no ill feeling toward any type of meat… the damn Cajun’s taught me that when they can make gumbo taste good out of any old road kill… Why they even taught me that bait was pretty good eating too (crawfish- or crawdads up here). Anyway his version looked ok
But to my taste, too much cilantro, was a bit bitter with out the meat… even ground beef would have made it better… oh well…
I went to the game Saturday… as you can tell most of fans were leaving early… like before the middle of the 3rd quarter…
I felt sorry for UTSA… they couldn’t do any thing right and made mistakes going both ways…on the the other hand, our defense is way better than I had figured they would be… the next few games will tell if they are this good or just played some really inept teams… ?
Sunday we made the trip up to Blackwell to wish my FIL (Father in law) a happy birthday… He was 90 on Sunday… I sure hope I get to hang around that long… as be in as good a shape as he is…
Tuesday I stopped to get a hair cut and this was out front…
Some body was not looking where they were going and failed to stop, when the traffic stopped… OUCH!… no comment if there was a cell phone involved… I didn’t see it.
So that is how it went… exciting I know… maybe things will pick up… or maybe not. got plenty of project to work on… need to get the tower down and replace the feed lines and some antennas soon… maybe? or maybe not?
