Yesterday was a very big day…. To describe my situation…
I have an answering machine that allows me to block numbers. I do not answer phone calls with numbers I do not recognize or that do not come in with caller ID showing… I do not answer spoofed ID’s like city names, etc. If they do not leave a message for me to call back I do not call back. If they call more than twice they get blocked… That is how my phone works here. So warning if you call me and I do not know your number than you better leave a message or after the second attempt you will be blocked.
Yesterday was a huge day for the “robo-callers” as well as some that we recognize. Not sure why yesterday was such a big day but boy they were getting with the program. the phone rang with fake ID’s and junk calls about 12 times… of those 8 were added to the caller block. It is a pain to check the caller ID, if not recognized let it go to the answer machine and if they just click… you put on block, hopefully they will get slowed down, until I run out of block spaces. That is what happened recently, I had to delete some of the blocked call numbers… so I could have room for the new ones that are coming up… I also actively participate in the “donotcall” complaint system and have my numbers registered as do not call (lot of good that does – they still call). I am not sure filing the complaints will ever do any good either but at least I am active with that.
One set of callers recently (and they are swapping numbers) call and do leave a message but it is cut off a bit and all we get is “call this number to get more information about this case” etc… Anyway, I got a lot of blocked calls in the list yesterday… and it interrupted my whole day being busy with blocking… ha!
