Another day and more things to see

Well we have succeeded to make it another day.  We were in Lakewood yesterday and went out for dinner in Morrison.  The little town has a lot of restaurants and some good and some… I think we made a expensive choice.  They wanted to to to the “COW”.

Now according to the ratings it was supposed to be real good?  I ordered the plain burger ($9.29).  I also wanted some Green chili on the fries as that is a side dish so asked for it but on the fries with the burger.  Somehow they determined I wanted Green chili on the burger.  Now I must say the burger was not too bad the fries were  so – so and the green chili on them was normal.  but if you look close the menu is set up to add $0.79 for anything you put on the burger other than the normal meat, tomato, pickle and lettuce.  if you want cheese  on it +$0.79 if you want mushrooms, or green chili or ?  it is + $0.79 for each.  So in my opinion it is over rated and over priced for a burger.  Strange the Mill on the other side of the street rated lower but I checked and the burger with cheese is $6.75? but maybe it is really dry or ? not sure as I did not eat there.  I also notice that the top rated places are rather expensive anyway but at least I figure you might get a great , real meal at them?   I figure that they tacked on a few of these:

just knowing that I would whine about the high prices.

During the evening after I caught this little fellow out for a stroll.

Today we got up early, way too early for retired folks, but had to be in the Springs to do a little baby set duty.  Since we did get around pretty early we took the back way down and there were multiple picture ops but I just didn’t get the ones I wanted other than this one…

Going down hwy 105 there are a lot of really neat old barns and some new that are made to look old.  It is also a very beautiful valley drive that we had missed for many years as we always stuck to I-25.  Some times you just need to get off the main roads and take a back road to see the real stuff.  Since we left so early we didn’t get breakfast – we did fill up with gas using our $0.03 discount at King Soopers on the already low price of $2.09.  Cheapest in the area.  But when we hit Monument we stopped to pick up a breakfast biscuit and I spotted this RV.  I guess it eats those that get too close?

Maybe it is a zombie eater or ?  not sure.

After our sitting duty we hit the road on to our own RV and spent much of the later afternoon vegetating… but decided , since it was Wed , we would make a quick run to the Big Burger world and have a fresh strawberry shake for dinner and then attend the music in the Florence park. pretty good both of them.  The music was old time cowboy type stuff and the guy had a double neck guitar that he did real well on.  When we left the music I spotted another of the great sunsets out here…

Can’t get a lot better than that.
