Well yesterday was a slow day… for some people but I decided it was time to finish up the wash job or at least move a little further forward? On Wednesday when in the springs I had the jeep washed at the Victory outreach. They do a hand wash for donations and they did a decent job too but it still lacked some touch ups and I also got some supplies to start the work on the motorhome. You see it has a bunch of streaks on the lower sections and some are red, some are black and all need to be washed off and some wax put on. the only real problem is a motorhome is a damn big project and I figure I may be working on it for the rest of the summer and maybe some of the fall? But I got busy and detailed the outside of the jeep some..
If I could get the motorhome to look like that I would be happy but am not figuring that will happen as the fiberglass on it is 10 years old and has faded and discolored a lot in different shades so just getting the bugs off and
the stains off will be a plus. I had to resort to using “toilet bowl” cleaner on the big read and black stains on the back end… I got about 10 ft. on each side and the rear end washed down and waxed up at least 25% of that. It looks better but not great. and it was damn hot on Thursday, although I was working on the shaded side and quit before it got way too hot. Sherrie on the other hand decided to get a pedicure so I took her to Walmart and then I drover around… I know my feet could use some work too but just can’t get into that. on my drive around I captured some barns.
For dinner we opted to try the “unusual”. It was recommended as a decent burger place but the sign in the window is real misleading… The place is called the OWL cigar Store. As far as I could tell once we got in there they had no cigars?
The picture on the wall shows what it used to look like inside some time ago and it didn’t show too many cigars back then although I think the rack up front was the cigar stuff and the bar was for serving beer? They still serve up some beer and have a few pool tables in the place.
I remember that old movie from the picture… WC Fields… can’t recall the name but still funny stuff…
One of the best signs was the old sign above the old phone box… and it had a really old black phone in it… guess you had to pay to keep your anonymity ?
for only a nickel you didn’t get mulch? the 10 cent option appears to be about the best and cheapest one? unless your really in trouble?
On the way back we spotted the Cast Aluminum dealer trailer… seems to be something up in the sky that we all missed? maybe?
So that was yesterday… Today was another trip to the Springs and not much else. We did take a bike ride this evening as it was nice and cool out – 80 deg. But I can’t handle a bike and take pictures? although you get a bunch of new senses while riding over being in the car. Could smell those cooking on the grill, the flowers appeared brighter, the dogs were louder, and generally it was stuff you just don’t get on a “drive by” … maybe we should bike a bit more? if it would be cool in the evening maybe?
