I have been driving past this spot for maybe 30 years and this time found out it was a mountain peak? I knew it as Gobblers Knob… but according to new internet findings it is a peak.
“Gobblers Knob is a 4,288 ft. / 1,307 m mountain peak near Lamar, Colorado, United States. Based on peakery data, it ranks as the 4307th highest mountain in Colorado and the 28925th highest mountain in the United States. The nearest peaks are Two Buttes, Sheep Mountain, High Rock, Black Butte, Eagle Nest, and Wildcat Hill. See the Gobblers Knob map, 3D fly around, and the Gobblers Knob photos to get a better sense of the mountain.”
Also a facebook page? Who does these things?
I always joked they might be fossilized dinosaur piles? ha! oh well… Thursday was a long trip back… it is just too damn hot and humid in Oklahoma this time of year and if you can get out… why not?
On our way out we came on this odd occurance… bought gas in Seiling… saw this sign and slammed on the brakes, whipped around and found they had a light out…
The other side said 1.89….. but hey just across the road the same company Jiffy Trip… was 10 cents higher?
