After last weeks work week this week I have been a bit less active… but not much… Sunday I made it to the local Tri-Lakes Car show in downtown Monument. A really nice small show with lots to see…
Yes it is not a car but the Air Force does some shows around and several ( I saw two) cadets that handle the falcons were there with a couple of the birds… Great interaction and nice to see.
I had an old 60 El Camino but mine was nothing special… had a inline 6 and automatic but was fun just the same and got great mileage… this one… big engine needs more air so they took out two of the headlights and put in “ram-air”… I guess neat idea.
Really nice color and the whole things was done real nice… seemed to be a lot of trucks at this show…
nice crowd… enough cars to stay busy for some time just looking..
Several for sale.. coming to end of summer, some want to move on, some don’t want to just store it for winter…
Not sure how you categorize this?
Another truck but some older here… “Black Cherry”
Another of the nice mid 50’s trucks…
Interesting show piece… had a lot of “extras’’ of the age… Drive in box, window tray, and a trunk full
Have their own museum there…
Now this one is plenty rare… I think I have only seen the add on “Roadster” kit in the movies… according to the tag in window there were only about 9000 built in 64 out of a total 92000 birds built… and you have to special order the kit as they actually quit offering it in 1963…
This one was really nice inside and out…
Not all the trucks were Chevy… but this one had a bit bigger engine than most…
Someone has the Dukes old General Lee… and this one was inspected by Cooter…wonder if this guy get’s any politically correct notices about his car? carrying the flag and all..
Another pickup but not sure how you list this one either… appears the cab was home made, the radiator grill said IH… but the lights are – 30’s , and the bed? interesting anyway..
After the car show we gathered up and went down to try another of the Mexican places here… Don Tequila…
I had a 2 pieces combo… beef burrito in green chili, and a rellano (soft)… you could get the rellano hard as well… not many places do that… and boy what a plate full… brought half home for later..
That was a Nacho plate…. they took 2/3 of that home…
So that was Sunday… the rest of the week? See later?
