Yep, for us it is More of the Same. Made a short trip to Ok for more medical test, Dr visits, rechecks on Sherries recent surgery. but had no need to just stay till the next round came along so we bounced around there for 3 days and turned tail and back to Colorado for cooler WX.
Some of the things we saw on the way , during and return…
I am not so sure about that but ? they can claim anything.
I got this picture before we left. Sherrie wanted a special box for knitting needles at a container store in Denver but across the parking lot was the huge sign and just couldn’t resist. Although I think with the current conditins I might not be up to much skiing? age and past brokent leg with metal parts make it difficult to be comfortable in ski boots… and I for sure am not in shape to do much either, yest I can get out and hike 3 or 4 miles and climb mountains but skiing is a whole different level…. of pain… ha!
Really not sure what that was about but ok…
We have been driving that stretch of I-70 east of Hays for years now and you can see this church from the interstate. I have always said i needed to take a few and check it out an yep it is big… noted as the Cathedral of the Plains…
We didn’t stop long enough to go in but from the internet search I found the link above and just WOW…
They have a small but impressive cemetery at the north end of town as well..
Tremendous amount of very large crosses all over…
As normal we had a few storms rumble though Stillwater… or it was overly hot? some of both maybe…
This was when we headed out for dinner one night to meet Nephew at Joes… the Storm clouds were just starting to build…
Nephew and Sherrie… been a while since we saw him last.
Sisters..
Now as I tried to explain to nephew the rock building (original joes) was one great place to eat before Joes… sorry but the food now is nothing compared to what it was …. about 50 years ago…ha!
Oh and the place across the street is upgraded but still carries the same name..
I spent a few hours in there 50 years ago too…
And just for my hobby collection I got another radio… small handheld and had it delivered to Stillwate while we were there. learning how to use it now… they are like the old days… turn it on and turn the channel knob… they all now have computers in them with multiple programming and control screens…
I like this one since it is smaller, color screen and so far easier to make the changes by touch screen…
But we are back in Colo till Wednesday and then back to OK for more tests and a Football game…
I like to keep the road warm and use all the cheap gas I can… ha!
