Well we made it to the New Year. Sometimes you wonder if you’re going to but we did. We haven’t done a lot of anything since Christmas. Some radio projects, helping do some programming but mostly I have been totally occupied with a new Media Server that my SIL made up for me for Christmas. A lot of new learning for the software as it is way different than what I had been using… 10 years of missed updates…ha! Anyway it is a great machine with a lot of space, but it had several issues that I had to ferret out. One – It wanted to reboot every time something a little off happened and when it reboot it had to do a parity check… I also had to load all the saved items from the old machine over to the new machine and then get to where we had access to all of it and clean it up. so with all that I have spent a week dealing with that. So for several days I fought the reboot issues and finally a few days ago I found someone else posting an answer that seems to work. it has run for 5 days now with out a reboot…
Early New Years eve morning I took the dog out and we almost got overrun by a “herd” of wild turkeys..
There were many inside and outside the fence and Bentley didn’t really know what to do.
New Years was coming and we needed some donuts… we don’t like black-eyed peas and that stuff so we opt for donuts and of course we had to make a run up to Castle Rock to get those at Sherries favorite shop. The Donut House.
Saw this out in front of the Donut house…
Once we finished there we went on to Lakewood to drop off a “globe” for GS#2. He had asked for one for Christmas but it came in late.
We did stay up to see the ball drop or ? what ever… but quickly went to bed… Whoo Whoo, New Years is not as big a it used to be… to us. This past weekend was GS#1’s birthday… unbelievable… not long ago he was this bundle..
Today…
Not likely for Grandma to hold this one… she does get a squeeze now and then but a bit big for the hold…
He had a small birthday party with only a few friends… and Sean made the cake..
Of course they opted to start with coke/root beer floats before the cake…
He is one busy kid… we met them at the Hockey rink where he had finished practice then stayed to be on the ice with little brother as a “keeper”… keeping them in line, after the puck, putting the nets back and the barriers back and various other things.
After that we took him to his favorite place for lunch at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop… then back for the party…
On our way out of town (Arvada) I grabbed this while waiting on the train… Think they have a “being number 1 issues”..
Tonight I was looking out the window and had to make a run for it… saw this and was maybe a little late but got some color.
Beyond all that I have a few thoughts to pass on…
and another comment about the current thinks in life…
