Just another exciting day. Slow to rise on this day and my back hurt but limbered up with some movement. Our plans today included a Jeep trip and not much else. Our trip began in Salida and we went west on Hwy 50 to County road 224. Took 224 up the hill where it split off into County road 228. This road winds its way toward Taylor mountain across the ridge and down into the valley that the Lilly Mine is in and out at Garfield, Co. Most of the road is “high-clearance” only but there is a little at the top that is better for 4X4… It is rough, high, and can be windy up there above timber-line… First a picture of our route,
